Education: Degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine or optometry. Work setting: Hospital (staff position). Rural area. Tasks: Diagnose diseases and physiological disorders. Prescribe post-operation medication and treatment . Supervise surgical procedures. Treat diseases, injuries and deformities. Act as consultants to other physicians. Order laboratory tests, X-rays and other diagnostic procedures. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Certification Examination. Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities. Specialization in surgery: General surgery. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Physically demanding. Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination. Standing for extended periods. Manual dexterity. Screening questions: Are you available for shift or on-call work?. Are you currently legally able to work in Canada?. Do you have previous experience in this field of employment?. Do you have the above-indicated required certifications?.
