Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Urban area. Hotel, motel, resort. Tasks: Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris and other refuse. Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing and electrical systems, and contact tradespersons for major repairs. Perform minor repairs on appliances. Move heavy furniture, equipment and supplies. Perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair. Work with minimal supervision. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Building service worker course. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Equipment: Industrial vacuum cleaners/power sweepers. Carpet cleaning machine. Power tools. Power lawn mowers. Swimming pool maintenance and cleaning equipment. Upholstery cleaning equipment. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Driver's validity licence check. Basic security clearance. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Valid driver's licence. Public transportation is available. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Work under pressure. Handling heavy loads. Physically demanding. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Personal suitability: Dependability. Excellent oral communication. Flexibility. Initiative. Judgement. Organized.
