Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Work site environment: Dusty. Hot. Noisy. Work setting: Garage. Tasks: Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of commercial transport truck systems. Confirm findings with supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace unit. Discuss work with supervisor. Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions. Inspect mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions. Inspect motor in operation. Review work orders . Road test motor vehicles . Test automotive systems and components. Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of truck-trailer systems. Repair or replace mechanical units or components. Perform scheduled maintenance service. Advise customers on work performed and future repair requirements. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Truck-Trailer Repairer Trade Certification. Area of specialization: Truck-trailer repair. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Hand-eye co-ordination. Attention to detail. Overtime required. Own tools/equipment: Tools. Steel-toed safety boots. Personal suitability: Dependability. Judgement. Reliability. Team player. Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years.
