For 50 years, Bonny Lea Farm has been empowering men and women who live with the challenge of an intellectual disability. We are recruiting a *Support Assistant *to help further develop work readiness skills to the individuals we support in our day program. This work will take place within a few of our social enterprise initiatives that provides training for our clients.
This position will support the further growth of our vocational program that is delivering services via a social enterprise model. It is a unique employment training program focused on providing a continuum of supports for adults with differing abilities with a focus on supported employment, equitable access to employment and improving the quality of real social connections. The platform for this training is primarily tied to the Shop on Central which is a Cafe and Gift Shop and also the Crew on Central which is a small contract services program. Both of these venues are located at 227 Central Street in Chester. The 227 Central Program provides a socially innovative learning environment and opportunities for tactile and ?doing? learning to set these participants for future success and successful bridging to labour markets and/or future education or training. Training and leisure programming support will also take place at our day program which offers seven other streams of social enterprises. The position will act as a role model to all those involved in the Program and will promote wellness in the workplace by supporting physical activity initiatives.
