The organization fosters a healthy work life balance and uses the latest best practice information at all levels.Job Summary:The Clinical Dietitian reports to the Director of Food Services and Clinical Dietetics. As a member of the clinical team the Dietitian collaborates with the RN/LPN, OT, PT and Social Worker provides competent, safe and ethical professional clinical nutrition and hydration services to our residents living in Long Term Care. The Dietitian participates mentoring and precepting dietetic students. Effective leadership and communication is a requirement of this position as the dietitian works closely with the Food Services department providing advice on diet, food and nutrition.Required Credentials and Qualifications:- Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition at a recognized university- Certificate of management level food safety program. ADVANCED.fst by TrainCAN.- Thorough knowledge of dietetics, with an interest in continuous quality improvement in long term care- Competency in dysphagia management and enteral nutrition considered an asset- Computer proficiency in MS Office (word, excel), email and internet- Excellent verbal and written communication skills- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular and consistent basis- Completion of an accredited dietetic internship- Current membership in Nova Scotia Dietetic Association required- Demonstrated time management and organizational skills- Demonstrates creative problem solving ability; ability to work collaboratively with other disciplines and committees to achieve excellence in care- Two years clinical nutrition experience preferredWe Offer:- Free on-site parking- Paid vacation and holidays- A supportive interdisciplinary work environment- Professional growth development through internal and external training and education- Leadership developmentSalary: Salary is commensurate with experienceHours of Work: Flexible hours. 1 day per week, 8a-4p.
