Job details
Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Outdoors. Work setting: Urban area. Construction company. Tasks: Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements . Record all measurements and other information obtained during survey activities. Determine precise locations using electronic distance measuring equipment. Survey and lay out subdivisions for rural and urban development. Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications. Supervision: 1 to 2 people. Computer and technology knowledge: AutoCAD. MS Excel. Computer-aided design (CAD). Field skills experience: Operate survey equipment. Operate total station to obtain information about property boundaries. Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment. Survey specialization: Construction. Land development. Subdivisions. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Vehicle supplied by employer. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Work under pressure. Attention to detail. Standing for extended periods. Walking. Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Personal suitability: Accurate. Efficient interpersonal skills. Excellent oral communication. Organized. Team player.
