As part of CanmetMATERIALS' Corrosion Technical Team in Hamilton, ON, the Senior Research Technologist works closely with research scientists, engineers and technologists to set-up, conduct and optimize laboratory experiments to simulate or explore the behaviour of materials exposed to hydrogen-containing environments. The Senior Research Technologist also supports research activities involving high-pressure high-temperature environments relevant to clean energy production, critical mineral processing and carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS).The Senior Research Technologist will be responsible for the operation of CMAT's high-pressure hydrogen test cell for fatigue and fracture toughness testing of materials in hydrogen service. These assessments involve adopting available industry standards and developing improved test methods for material qualifications in pressurized hydrogen environments.
