*Accounting Assistant*
*REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:* Finance Manager/Executive Director
*QUALIFICATIONS: *A minimum of 2 years accounting experience, preferably in the non-profit sector. Great Plains, Simply Accounting and Excel experience.
*JOB SUMMARY:* In keeping with the philosophy of inclusion and mission of Hutton House, the Accounting Assistant will be responsible for ensuring that the following activities are completed. The Accounting Assistant will adhere to all policies and practices including confidentiality.
*JOB CATEGORY*: Regular Part Time (15-22.5 hrs per week) additional time as needed
*KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:*
1. Accounts payable
* Processes invoices in Great Plains
* Maintains vendor information.
* Processes payments, arranges signing authority.
* Ensures that all remittance payments are made on a timely basis, i.e. EHT, Employee deductions, WSIB, RRSP
* Maintains and reconciles Aged Payables
2. *Finance Operations*
* Prepares monthly credit card reconciliations.
* Maintains audit working papers.
* Assists management in the development and maintenance of internal financial reporting systems.
* Assists in the preparation of budgets, subsidy reports and any other financial reports required.
* Year end EHT, WSIB reconciliations for CRA (government)
3. *Payroll*
* Completes semi-monthly Payroll for the organization.
* Ensures entries into HRIS Scheduling system by Managers/Coordinators are accurate.
* Enters timesheet data ensuring accuracy of hours, rate, and department.
* Process payroll ensuring all salaried staff and hourly staff are processed.
* Uploads payroll data to bank.
* Downloads bank acceptance and save file in computer.
* Distributes payroll payment stubs.
* Maintains the copies of payroll journals and paystub, and timecard reports for audit purposes.
4. *Working Relationships*
* Works in collaboration with the Finance Manager
* Maintains a positive, supportive relationship with all staff, participants and volunteers.
* Adheres to all policies and procedures of the Hutton House.
* Contributes as a team member to the overall mission of the organization and the goals and objectives of the team.
* Participates in staff /committee meetings and other events of the organization as required.
* Participates in an annual performance evaluation.
* Engages in professional development as required.
* Reports regularly to the Executive Director.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $23.00-$24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 ? 22.5 per week
