Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Tasks: Check formwork, granular base and steel reinforcement materials. Fill hollows and remove spots on freshly poured cement. Operate power vibrators to compact concrete. Level top surface concrete according to grade and depth specification. Impart desired finish to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools. Install anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills and other fixtures. Apply hardening and sealing components to cure surfaces. Waterproof, damp proof and restore surfaces. Repair, resurface and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year. Support for newcomers and refugees: Offers mentorship programs that pair newcomers and/or refugees with experienced employees . Support for youths: Offers on-the-job training tailored to youth. Provides awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth. Support for Indigenous people: Offers mentorship, coaching and/or networking opportunities for Indigenous workers . Provides cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers . Supports for visible minorities: Offers mentorship programs that pair members of visible minorities with experienced employees.
