Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Noisy. Work setting: Maintenance. Repair. Testing. Service. Electrical or electronic equipment manufacturing. Tasks: Read blueprints to determine work requirements . Test and observe electrical and mechanical conditions of equipment. Troubleshoot and repair electric motors, transformers, switchgear, generators and other electro-mechanical equipment. Use machining tools to fabricate or recondition parts. Replace or recondition shafts, bearings, commutators and other components. Weld or braze components. Perform some machining to recondition or modify shafts, commutators or other parts. Perform on-site servicing and repair. Test and repair or replace faulty wiring or components in electrical switchgear. Test repaired motors, transformers, switchgear or other electrical apparatus to ensure proper performance. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Electrical Mechanic Trade Certification. Equipment and machinery experience: Punch presses. Equipment, eystems and controls experience: Motor controls. Area of specialization: Electric motors. Transformers. Switchgears. Industrial motors. Rotors. Shafts. Bearings. Coils. Generators. Switches. Security and safety: Basic security clearance. Driver's validity licence check. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Handling heavy loads. Standing for extended periods. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Manual dexterity. Own tools/equipment: Tools.
