Job details
Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Tasks: Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements. Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools. Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials. Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware. Supervise other workers. Estimate costs and materials. Provide customer service. Supervision: 1 to 2 people. Equipment and machinery experience: Hand tools. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Bending, crouching, kneeling. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Handling heavy loads. Overtime required. Work with minimal supervision. Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Personal suitability: Accurate. Client focus. Reliability. Team player. Values and ethics.
