Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work site environment: Dusty. Outdoors. Livestock. Poultry and egg production. Work setting: Staff accommodation provided. Tasks: Clear and collect brush and debris from fields, pens and other work areas. Conduct artificial insemination and spraying or shearing of livestock or disinfecting pens, barns or poultry houses. Consider water saturation, light and temperature when planning for crop growth and development. Diagnose livestock health issues. Direct farm feed inventory activities . Handling animals. Monitoring animal health. Treat livestock health issues. Assist in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio-security procedures. Maintain financial and production records. Co-ordinate and supervise the work of general farm workers and harvesting labourers. Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed. Formulate feeding program. Maintain livestock performance records. Maintain quality control and production records. Supervise and oversee breeding and other livestock-related programs. Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment. Perform general farm duties. Supervision: 3-4 people. Area of specialization: Agricultural livestock service. Poultry.
