Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Tasks: Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy. Load and unload goods. Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials. Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment. Perform brake adjustments. Perform emergency roadside repairs. Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle. Perform preventive maintenance. Receive and relay information to central dispatch. Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption. Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo. Transport and handle dangerous goods. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Driver's License (Class 1 or A). Transportation/travel experience: Short-haul. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Drug test. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Handling heavy loads. Sitting. Personal suitability: Efficient interpersonal skills. Excellent oral communication. Flexibility. Organized. Reliability. Team player. Experience: 1 to less than 7 months.- LocationBrampton, ONL6X 4V4
