Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Outdoors. Work setting: Construction. Tasks: Assign projects to subordinates and staff related to work safety, environmental safety and accident prevention.. Plan and organize daily operations. Provide information/training to employers, employees and general public. Review HR directives to assure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations . Train staff. Establish and implement policies and procedures. Inspect workplaces for safety or health hazards. Investigate workplace accidents or illnesses. Develop and implement health and safety plans. Ensure health and safety regulations are followed. Oversee the preparation of reports. Advise senior management. Evaluate work environments, programs and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : First Aid Certificate. National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) program. Computer and technology knowledge: MS Outlook. MS Excel. MS Word. Type of inspection and investigation: Hazardous products handling and storage. Workplace. Work related accidents. Area of work experience: Construction site. Area of specialization: Marine construction. Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots.
