Job details
Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work setting: Railway maintenance. Railway transport company. Tasks: Resolve work problems, provide technical advice and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality. Estimate costs and materials. Co-ordinate and schedule activities. Supervise workers and projects. Supervise staff. Operate diesel or electric track haulage equipment. Assist railway track maintenance workers to lay, maintain and repair railway tracks. Perform general office duties. Ensure transport compliance with regulations. Organize and maintain inventory. Oversee the scheduling and dispatching of vehicles and goods. Patrol assigned track sections to identify and report damaged or broken track. Plan and organize daily operations. Evaluate daily operations . Supervision: 3-4 people. Railway track maintenance workers. Railway and yard locomotive engineers. Computer and technology knowledge: MS Excel. Equipment and machinery experience: Railway vehicles. Security and safety: Medical exam. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Personal suitability: Accurate. Efficient interpersonal skills. Excellent oral communication.
