The Data Engineer will focus on application development and support in a Talend-based development environment. In a team-oriented atmosphere, the incumbent will work closely with the Technical Lead, Senior Data Engineers, Data Engineers, Business Analysts, and Quality Assurance Analysts in delivering solutions for our clients. The incumbent will be responsible for the end-to-end design and development, testing and implementation of ETL workflows and contribute to the overall Database Design. Development tools include but are not limited to Talend, Salesforce and various on-prem and cloud-based database technologies such as AWS (SQL) and Oracle. Is this role right for you? In this role you will:Collaborate with teammates to plan, design, develop, test, and support ETL workflows in TalendDesign and/or implement changes to existing Database ModelDesign and implement stored procedures, functions and views to support the ETL workflowsParticipate in peer-reviews of solution designs and related codePackage and support deployment of automated releasesAnalyze and resolve technical and application problemsProvide Production Support and Release Support nights and weekends when requiredAssess opportunities for application and process improvement and prepare documentation of rationale to share with team members and other affected partiesWork with teammates to roll-out and maintain continuous integration practicesAdhere to high-quality development principles while delivering solutions on-time and on-budgetDevelop and manage batch jobs using Autosys, Control-M, or similar scheduling toolsMonitor and troubleshoot ETL jobs and data pipelines in Linux-based environmentsMaintain documentation for ETL processes, data flows, and system configurationsDo you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:5+ years' experience as a Data EngineerUniversity degree in Computer Science or a related disciplineExtensive experience in Talend Data Integration, database design and developmentExperience with Database Modeling design patterns in any Database platformProficient with SQL Server and/or Oracle Database TechnologiesExperience with large Salesforce implementations ? specifically Talend to Salesforce integration experience would be considered an assetFamiliar with Integrating Salesforce with other cloud-based application systems using REST, SOAP API Experience with deployment processes and release pipelines. Ex: Jenkins, Bitbucket/GitExperience using Jira for backlog managementExperience working in an Agile TeamExperience with business intelligence tools like Tableau, SAS, and Power BI considered an assetExperience in hosted environments like Azure or AWS considered a strong assetExperience integrating with Salesforce and Kafka.Proficiency in Linux/Unix command-line tools and scripting (e.g., Bash, Shell).Experience with job scheduling tools like Autosys, Control-M, or Cron.Excellent communication skills to clearly articulate integration requirements to business users.
