*JOB TITLE : EARLY CHILDHOOD ASSISTANT*

Muskoka Lakes Preschool is a licensed nonprofit childcare centre that has been providing childcare in the Muskoka community since 1987. Hours of operation are from 7:30am-5:30pm. We have programs for children aged 15 months to 12 years old
We are located in Glen Orchard Public School, near Port Carling and Bala, in Muskoka.
*JOB SUMMARY*
Early Childhood Assistants work under the direction and guidance of the Supervisor to fill in and support employees of Muskoka Lakes Preschool in delivering age-appropriate programs to enhance the cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development according to Muskoka Lakes Preschool?s program statement.
*SUPERVISORY RESPOSIBILITY & LEVEL OF AUTHORITY*
· Assists staff in providing a high-quality program in the classroom
· Assists staff in supervising and ensuring the safety of the children in the classroom
· Responsible for adhering to the policies and procedures of Muskoka Lakes Preschool while working in the organization
*POSITION SUMMARY:*
· Assists in providing a physically safe and emotionally supportive environment showing sensitivity to the individual needs of children in all aspects of development.
· Works closely with other program staff, in implementing the daily program
· Along with staff, supervises children, ensuring a safe environment
· Maintains positive relationships with colleagues and children.
· Participating with other tasks as required
*EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:*
· High school diploma required
Experience in childcare education and field an asset
*EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:*
· Current successful Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening
· Valid First Aid training and Level ?C? CPR
· Up-to-date immunizations
