Education: Registered Apprenticeship certificate. Work setting: Construction. Level of expertise: Maintenance and repair. Tasks: Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials. Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems. Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware. Instruct apprentices. Supervise other workers. Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Carpenter Trade Certification. Equipment and machinery experience: Hand tools. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Bending, crouching, kneeling. Physically demanding. Own tools/equipment: Tools. Steel-toed safety boots. Personal suitability: Accurate. Efficient interpersonal skills. Excellent oral communication. Judgement. Reliability. Team player. Values and ethics. Punctuality.
