Education: Degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine or optometry. Work setting: Hospital (staff position). Urban area. Relocation costs covered by employer. Tasks: Diagnose diseases and physiological disorders. May conduct medical research on human disorders, illnesses, preventive or curative methods. Prescribe post-operation medication and treatment . Supervise surgical procedures. Treat diseases, injuries and deformities. Prepare research papers for publication and presentation. Study the nature, cause and development of diseases and the structural and functional changes caused by diseases. Act as consultants to other physicians. Order laboratory tests, X-rays and other diagnostic procedures. Supervision: Working groups. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Certification Examination. Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities.
