Job details
Education: Degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine or optometry. Tasks: Diagnose diseases and physiological disorders. Prescribe medication and treatment . Refer patients for surgery. Study the nature, cause and development of diseases and the structural and functional changes caused by diseases. Act as consultants to other physicians. Order laboratory tests, X-rays and other diagnostic procedures. Advise patients on health care. Collaborate with specialists to develop programs for clients' special needs. Examine the patient. Develop quality management and quality assurance standards. Coordinate patient care. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Specialty residency training. Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Certification Examination. Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities. Personal suitability: Efficient interpersonal skills.
