Your main responsibilities Undertaking geotechnical and construction quality control field testing and inspections (i.e. compaction, concrete, rebar, etc.) at various construction projects; Undertaking logging of geotechnical drilling operations; Assisting senior sta? with various tasks required for multi-disciplinary projects including collection, preparation and testing of samples; Setting up, performing tests and logging results in the ?eld and laboratory; Preparing factual reports, summaries, data sheets or graphs for interpretation of test results by the supervisor; Consistently executing safe work practices and work plans while completing ?eld, laboratory and o?ce work; Generating and assisting with preparation of deliverable documentation such as technical reports, summaries, data sheets, graphs, proposals and quali?cation packages; Participating in project management, site and sta? planning meetings; Handling di?cult situations with tact and diplomacy to maintain positive working relationships with all internal and external contacts; Maintaining records of health and safety information, calibration certi?cates, equipment manuals and applicable standards; Traveling out of town for extended periods of time to remote areas to ful?ll ?eld work responsibilities as required. What makes you unique Technical Diploma in a field related to Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering; Experience in one or all of Soil and Aggregate, Asphalt and Laboratory experience; More than 3 years of experience in highway materials, construction materials sampling and testing and inspection; CSA, CCIL or ACI certification (asset); Ability to handle samples up to 25kg of materials regularly; Demonstrated interest and sensitivity towards occupational health and safety.
