Job details
Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work site environment: Noisy. Dusty. At heights. Work setting: Installation. Shop fabrication. Various locations. On-site fabrication. Tasks: Manufacture and assemble in the factory the ducts for hot air heating, air conditioning and ventilation. Measure and mark sheet metal according to template. Operate metalworking machines to cut, punch, drill, shape or straighten sheet metal. Grind and buff seams, joints and rough surfaces. Operate plasma cutters. Cut materials using power tools or by hand. Fit and join sheet metal parts. Install sheet metal products according to specifications and building codes. Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Specialization or experience: Heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system. Security and safety: Bondable. Basic security clearance. Criminal record check. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Physically demanding. Manual dexterity. Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination. Standing for extended periods. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Handling heavy loads. Tight deadlines. Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Safety glasses/goggles.
