We are looking for a high energy pediatric Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) to join our team. The position involves working under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide in-home therapy services to a 16 year old autistic client . This includes implementing treatment plans and documenting progress. Experience working with the the pediatric population is highly recommended. The candidate must have a valid drivers license and be able to drive to the client's home for sessions. Key responsibilities of a pediatric OTA might include: * *Implementing treatment plans:* Working with children on activities designed to improve their fine motor skills, gross motor skills, sensory processing, and social skills. * *Documentation:* Accurately recording session details, progress, and any changes to the treatment plan. * *Collaboration:* Working with OTs, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a coordinated approach to care. * *Assistance with assessments:* Helping OTs with the initial assessment of a child's needs and strengths. * *Parent/caregiver education:* Teaching families strategies to support their child's development at home. * *Administrative tasks:* Managing inventory, scheduling appointments, and handling paperwork. * *Potential group leadership:* Assisting with or leading group therapy sessions. * *Adaptability:* Working in various settings, including schools, clinics, hospitals, or homes. Specific skills and qualities that may be sought in a pediatric OTA include: * *Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)* . * *Strong organizational skills* . * *Ability to work independently and as part of a team* . * *Empathy and patience* . * *Understanding of developmental milestones and common pediatric conditions* . * *Ability to adapt to a variety of learning environments* . * *Current First Aid and CPR certifications* . * *Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle (depending on work location)* Job Type: Part-time Pay: $40.00-$50.00 per hour Benefits: * Flexible schedule Willingness to travel: * 25% (preferred) Work Location: In person- Location Chilliwack, BC
