Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work setting: Relocation costs not covered by employer. General manufacturing. Tasks: Compute dimensions and tolerances of machine parts. Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables. Repair machine tools and parts. Fit and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerance. Maintain, repair and calibrate precision measuring instruments. Document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances. Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports. Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers). Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments. Measuring tools: Micrometers. Verniers. Equipment and machinery experience: Engine lathes. Milling machines. Use computer numerical control (CNC) machines. Computer-aided design (CAD). Security and safety: Driving record check (abstract). Criminal record check. Drug test. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Public transportation is available. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Ability to work independently.
