Tasks: Assist emergency response workers in the investigation of gas fires and explosions . Install gas heating units and their components. Measure and mark reference points for installation of gas lines and equipment. Service gas heating units and their components. Install and maintain meters and regulators and gas lines between gas unit and gas meter. Repair and service gas appliances and related equipment. Advise clients regarding standards, safety features and maintenance of gas units and systems. Study drawings and specifications to determine the layout of the installation and materials required. Test and adjust control mechanisms and check pipes and piping connections for gas leaks using gas detecting devices. Estimate costs and materials. Install and service propane and natural gas filling stations. Test and replace defective equipment or components. Adjust equipment, valves, pumps and controls and process equipment. Install and test water well pumps, piping systems and equipment. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Gas Fitter Trade Certification. Gas Fitter Certificate - Level 2 or B.
