Zone: Labrador Grenfell ZoneLocation: Labrador Health CentreCook I Labrador Grenfell Zone - LHC PATIENT FOOD SERVICETemporary Call In Hours8/12-Hour Shifts; Days, Weekends.SalaryCG-25 of NAPE HS Salary Scale, $23.78 to 26.19, plus applicable Labrador AllowanceCompetition NumberVAC0006590Posted Date2025-01-23Closing DateOpen Until FilledDemands, duties, qualificationsReporting to the Food Operations Manager or designate, the primary purpose of this position is to prepare, assemble and serve meals for patients/residents/customers and to perform tasks related to food service.Qualifications:Graduation from high school or equivalency; Experience in preparing or serving food;Ability to learn and apply food values and therapeutic diets;Ability to take directions and learn techniques involved in the safe use and care of food service equipment and kitchen utensils;Ability to learn and apply safe food handling procedures/practices;Ability to organize daily tasks while managing competing demands on time;Ability to maneuver heavy carts throughout the hospital/home;The successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory certificate of conduct.Duties (Included but not limited to): Prepare or serve beverages, snacks and meals for patients/residents/customers including, but not limited to, preparing ingredients, special dietary food items and main menu itemsReview patient/resident diet list/info and prepare individual meal trays & snacks in keeping with the therapeutic diets orderedAssemble meal trays/serve meals for residents/patients/customers including catering to functions within the organizationDistribute and collect meal trays to and from floorsScrape and clean dishes and food carts. Operate and clean dish machine and other related equipmentClean/sanitize work areas, equipment and trolleysFill food supply requisitions for hospital and/or LTC departmentsMay stock groceries on shelves and refrigerators, inspect goods and rotate stockOperate cash register as requiredMaintain general sanitation and cleanliness of departmentMaintain high standard of personal hygiene and follow all departmental policies/procedures pertaining to food safety and sanitation;Perform other related work as required.- Location Happy Valley-Goose Bay, NL
