Join the Village of Cumberland as a Truck Driver/Labourer, where you?ll play an important role in maintaining roads, infrastructure, and public spaces. In this position, you?ll operate trucks and equipment, assist with a variety of labour tasks, and support municipal services such as road maintenance, construction, and general operations. You?ll work as part of a team in a fast-paced, hands-on environment, helping ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.About The Role:Reporting to the Public Works Foreman, this position maintains the Village?s roads, utilities, rights-of-way, and other infrastructure and services.Key responsibilities include: The safe operation of heavy equipment including but not limited to single axle dump truck, rubber tire backhoe, and street sweeper. Winter road maintenance including sanding, snow plowing, and sidewalk snow clearing. Labour responsibilities as assigned including assisting with the installation, repair, and maintenance of all municipal infrastructure such as water, sanitary sewer, roads, parks, and building facilities.What we Offer A collaborative and supportive work environment that values work-life balance. Saltwater beaches and Mount Washington Alpine Resort are just a short drive away.QualificationsThe ideal candidate will possess: A minimum of three years? experience operating equipment, including heavy equipment used in road and utility construction. Experience in the repair and maintenance of municipal infrastructure. Experience with winter road maintenance operations, including sanding and snow plowing. Sound knowledge of the methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in road and utility maintenance and construction. A strong understanding of safe equipment operation and workplace safety practices. Ability to perform physically demanding work in adverse weather conditions.Preference will be given to those individuals who possess additional training and skills with the following: EOCP level 1 training in water distribution and wastewater collection. Occupational First Aid Level 1. Licensing and Assessment Criteria Must possess and maintain a Class 5 driver?s license with Air Endorsement. WHIMIS Certification.
