Job details
Education: College/CEGEP. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Bake shop. Café. Coffee shop. Tasks: Prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls and sweet goods, batters for muffins, cookies and cakes and icings and frostings according to recipes or special customer orders. Prepare pastry for special occasions, such as weddings and birthdays. Bake mixed dough and batters. Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food. Prepare special orders. Supervise baking personnel and kitchen staff. Frost and decorate cakes and baked goods. Train staff. Ensure that the quality of products meets established standards. Inspect kitchen and food service areas. Operate machinery. Organize and maintain inventory. Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances. Supervision: 3-4 people. Screening questions: Are you authorized to work in Canada?. Are you available for shift or on-call work?. Do you have experience working in this field?. Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year.
