Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Tasks: Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements. Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools. Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials. Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems. Schedule and co-ordinate work on sites. Instruct apprentices. Supervise other workers. Supervision: 3-4 people. 5-10 people. Equipment and machinery experience: Hand tools. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Handling heavy loads. Large workload. Physically demanding. Tight deadlines. Own tools/equipment: Tools. Steel-toed safety boots. Screening questions: Are you authorized to work in Canada?. Employment terms options: Early morning. Evening.
