Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Tasks: Compute dimensions and tolerances of machine parts. Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables. Set up and adjust production machineries/tools. Fit and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerance. Document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances. Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers). Set up and operate conventional and computer controlled machine tools. Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments. Program CNC machine tools. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Machinist Trade Certification. Machinist Red Seal Endorsment. Equipment and machinery experience: Use computer numerical control (CNC) machines. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Public transportation is not available. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Tight deadlines. Repetitive tasks. Standing for extended periods. Attention to detail. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
