Job details
Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work site environment: Outdoors. All weather conditions. Work setting: Various locations. Landscape contractor. Residential. Horticulture and/or gardening. Tasks: Trim trees to achieve the desired pruning objective such as crown cleaning, thinning, raising, reduction, restoration, espalier pruning, vista pruning. Water and tend to plants, lawns and/or gardens. Apply fertilizers, fungicides, herbicides, pesticides and other lawn care products. Apply various treatments such as pruning, spraying, repairing damaged areas and injecting with treatment solutions. Assess the health of lawns. Direct crews who maintain the health and appearance of golf courses and their surrounding landscapes. Examine trees and shrubs to diagnose problems and disease. Plant and maintain private and public lawns and gardens. Plant and move trees. Tree removal. Plant bulbs, flowers, shrubs and trees. Assist in pruning trees, shrubs and plants. Rake and collect refuse. Climb and work aloft on poles, ladders or other support structures. Type of product: Ornamental trees, shrubs and hedges. Landscaping experience: Residential projects.
