We Love. *Job Type / Category* This position assists residents with the activities of daily living, including personal, social, physical and recreational needs under the direction and supervision of a Nurse and reporting to our Clinical Nurse Manager. *The Challenge for You* Amongst the many other day-to-day responsibilities, some of your duties will include: * Assists residents with all aspects of activities of daily living including hygiene, bathing (twice weekly), washing, bowel/bladder care, dressing, caring for teeth, hair and cosmetic needs according to each individual?s care plan. * Lifts, transfers, porters and ambulates residents while maintaining comfort and good body alignment. * Ensures residents receive adequate nutrition according to individual care plans by feeding, distributing meal trays and nourishments, noting changes in appetites and food preference. * Observes and reports changes in a resident?s functional and cognitive behavior to the nurse on duty. * Participates in and encourages residents to participate in therapeutic, social and recreational activities. * Assists with admissions, discharges, and transfers within established policies and procedures. * Ensures proper care and identification of resident?s personal effects, including clothing. * Under the direction of a nurse, may perform any duties related to resident care for which they are adequately trained, such as but not limited to, the application of topical medication including ointments and lotions, make diabetic urine tests, dispenses oral medications, takes and records vital signs and obtains routine urine samples. * Maintains written records regarding matters such as bowel movements, weights and bathing schedule. * Maintains an up-to-date knowledge of all relevant facility policies and procedures, including an understanding of the Fire Safety/Disaster Plan and ensures the safety of staff and residents. * Performs other related duties as required. * *You turn ?No? into ?How?.* *Required Education, Skills and Qualifications* Grade 10 plus graduation from a recognized Long Term Care Aide Program or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
