This role is ideal for an experienced finance professional who thrives in a client-facing environment, enjoys ownership of complex reporting and forecasting responsibilities, and brings both analytical rigor and business insight to every engagement.</div><div>If you are a CPA (or working toward one) who enjoys shaping financial strategy while maintaining strong technical accounting foundations, we invite you to join us.</div><div><br><strong>Duties and Responsibilities:</strong></div><div><strong>Financial Reporting & Analysis:</strong></div><ul><li>Lead weekly and monthly financial reporting engagements for clients, ensuring accuracy and providing meaningful financial insights.</li><li>Prepare and present monthly financial statements and executive-level financial commentary.</li><li>Drive forecasting activities, including identifying and explaining complex variances to budget.</li><li>Develop and monitor KPIs, dashboards, and operational metrics to guide strategic decision-making.</li><li>Create advanced financial and operational reports that support executive leadership.</li></ul><div><strong>Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting:</strong></div><ul><li>Assist with preparation of annual budgets, independently developing assigned sections.</li><li>Perform detailed variance analysis of actuals to budget and forecast.</li><li>Support capital evaluation and capital spend forecasting initiatives.</li></ul><div><strong>Accounting & Compliance:</strong></div><ul><li>Research and apply appropriate accounting treatments for transactions.</li><li>Ensure accurate recording of transactions, including vendor invoices, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.</li><li>Oversee and support accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and source deductions.</li><li>Prepare and remit HST and payroll-related filings.</li><li>Participate in process reviews and internal control improvements.</li></ul><div><strong>Client Engagement:</strong></div><ul><li>Lead client engagements independently with professionalism and accountability.</li><li>Develop a strong understanding of client operations and financial objectives.</li><li>Build long-term, strategic partnerships with clients.</li><li>Provide ad-hoc financial analysis to support client decision-making.</li><li>Utilize strong communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.</li></ul><div><strong>Systems & Continuous Improvement:</strong></div><ul><li>Collaborate with software providers to enhance financial and operational reporting systems.</li><li>Identify and lead process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.</li><li>Participate in systems implementation and optimization initiatives.</li></ul><div><strong>Leadership:</strong></div><ul><li>May oversee junior staff or interns.</li><li>Model professionalism, accountability, and high-performance standards within the team.</li></ul><div><strong>Qualifications:</strong></div><ul><li>CPA designation</li><li>5+ years of experience in the preparation and analysis of financial statements.</li><li>Proven ability to manage all aspects of A/R, A/P, and G/L, including reconciliations.</li><li>Strong analytical decision-making and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Excellent communication (verbal, written, and interpersonal) and organizational skills.</li><li>Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills, with the a- Location Peterborough, ON
