<p>Natural Resource Solutions Inc.</li><li>(NRSI) is proud to provide high quality and cost-effective natural environment consulting solutions to our clients across Canada.  We are a highly respected niche biological consulting firm with offices in Waterloo, Ontario and Calgary, Alberta.</p><p>Our team of skilled ecologists provide expertise in the identification and management of significant and sensitive natural species and their habitats.  Why Us?</p><p>At NRSI we value our people and strive to provide a healthy work-life balance and a safe work environment.  This position offers a competitive hourly wage, the opportunity to work with other highly experienced staff, and career growth opportunities by promoting from within our organization.  Beyond the paycheck, you will gain exposure to high-impact projects that build your professional portfolio.</p><p>We prioritize internal advancement, often looking to our contract partners first when any long-term opportunities arise.  Joining NRSI means joining a culture of excellence where your technical contributions are recognized and your professional independence is respected.</p><p>Your Contribution to NRSI NRSI is looking for a motivated individual with expertise in terrestrial/wetland or aquatic ecological field monitoring to join our growing team.  The successful applicant will be based out of Thunder Bay, Ontario and will be expected to regularly lead and/or assist with field monitoring activities for a variety of wildlife and/or vegetation survey types, as well as contribute to office-based tasks.</p><p>The primary duties and responsibilities for this role include: Leading or assisting with field surveys for one or more of: vegetation, birds, herpetofauna, bats, or wetlands, among others, Taking well-organized and detailed field notes, Communicating frequently and as required with project managers, other field staff, and clients, and Assisting with a variety of office-related tasks such as data management and data analysis.</p><p>Your Education: A diploma or degree in Biology or Environmental Sciences.  Similar educational experience will also be considered.</p><p>Key Job Requirements: A valid driver's license and over 21 years old in order to drive a rental or company vehicle.</p><p>Current Standard First Aid and CPR Certification.</p><p>Minimum of one (1) field season of experience in planning and leading surveys for at least one of the following: vascular plant inventories, vegetation community mapping, birds, herpetofauna, or bats.</p><p>Willing and able to travel for regular multi-day field surveys, in remote locations, under inclement weather, in a variety of environmental conditions, and occasionally for long hours.</p><p>Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team.</p><p>Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail, including the maintenance of well-organized and detailed field notes.</p><p>Able to reliably commute on a regular basis to the work location.</p><p>Assets: A reliable personal vehicle insured for work purposes (authorized mileage will be reimbursed).</p><p>Certifications in Ecological Land Classification (ELC) and the Ontario Wetland Evaluation System (OWES).</p><p>Experience in completing surveys for birds, herpetofauna, vegetation, pollinators/insects, mammals, fish, mussels.</p><p>Boat license and ATV training.</p><p>Application Closing Date: May 15, 2026.</li><li>  Interviews will begin as suitable applicants are found.</p><p>Application Requirements:  A cover letter addressed to Lillian Knopf is required with all applications.</p><p>Position Start Date:   As soon as possible, or an agreed upon start date based on suitable applicant.</p><p>Location:  Thunder Bay, ON Salary:  $23 - $29 per hour commensurate on experience.</p><p>Estimated number of hours per week, including authorized travel:  40 hours.</p><p>Vacancy Status: This posting is for an existing vacancy.</p><p>- Location Thunder Bay, ON
