Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Tasks: Interpret welding process specifications. Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment. Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes. Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications. Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products. Weld or bolt sections together. Lay out reference points and patterns. Assemble and fit plates and sections to form structures. Install fabricated components in final product. Study engineering drawings and blueprints to determine material requirements. Determine materials required. Welding techniques: MIG. Equipment and machinery experience: Grinder. Cutting torches. Area of specialization: Structural metal or steel. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Welding helmet. Personal suitability: Efficient interpersonal skills. Excellent oral communication. Organized. Team player. Reliability. Screening questions: Are you authorized to work in Canada?. Experience: Experience an asset.
