*Line Cook* The Oakville Club is a Private Members Club that was established in 1907. It is a multi-sport and family-oriented, fitness and social club that provides personal service, facilities and programs to enhance the quality of our members? lives and well-being. The Club is a charming, friendly and positive workplace that is committed to supporting staff to reach their full potential *Job Responsibilities:* · Sets up and stocks food items and other necessary supplies. · Prepares food items by cutting, chopping, mixing, and preparing sauces. · Cook food items by grilling, frying, sautéing, and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards. · Maintain cleanliness and complies with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage. · Cleans and sanitizes cooking surfaces at the end of the shift. · Performs inventory checks and completes food storage logs. *Work Hours, Compensation and Benefits:* · The role will require day, evening, weekend and holiday shifts. · The hourly rate is $19-$24 per hour plus gratuity. · Participation in The Oakville Club Meal Plan. · Uniform cleaning provided. *Qualifications/Skills:* * Basic written and verbal communication skills * Strong organizational skills * Accuracy and speed in executing tasks * Follows directions and instructions and able to work as a team member. * Proficiency in various cooking techniques including chopping, mixing and cooking using various methods such as grilling, frying and sautéing. * Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment, demonstrating reliability and consistency under pressure. * Willing to learn and adapt to new cooking techniques and kitchen technologies. * Able to lift 50lbs. *Education and Experience Requirements:* * High school diploma or GED * One to two years of experience as a line cook, restaurant cook, or prep cook * Certificate in Culinary Arts preferred * Experience with various cooking methods and procedures and familiar with industry best practices.
