*Job Overview* We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Gas 'B' Fitter to join our team, and be a part of the Fortis BC AMI meter exchange program. The ideal candidate will be a punctual, ambitious gas fitter looking to find a long term home within our company. We are looking for someone who can be an FSL (Field Service lead), and will thrive in a leadership role working on, and helping manage the project overall. Ideally our candidate will have a history in gas fitting preferably with experience managing a crew, leadership qualities, and contribute to a positive work environment. Your role for the first 2-3 years will be the installation of new gas meters in residential neighbourhoods within Colwood, Langford, and Sooke. You will also be managing an apprentice who works out of the same vehicle performing the same tasks. *It is important to note that if you are hired for this position, we provide a 1 week training course that covers everything from how to do the work, as well as how to use your zebra device.* *Responsibilities* * Install (and remove old) gas meters as part of the Fortis BC AMI program. * Customized installation of black iron piping for each gas meter as required. * Relight gas appliances in customers homes after a meter exchange, as needed. * Minor troubleshooting of a gas appliance if a pilot won't relight. * Communicating clearly and efficiently with Fortis BC, EMB management, and home owners. * Performing regular audits on your apprentice's workmanship. * Utilization of a zebra device as you work through job orders, and overseeing/tracking material inventory (We provide training for this) * Working overtime to perform gas appliance relights *Requirements* * Valid drivers lisense * Gas-fitter 'B' ticket recognized by Technical Safety BC * Criminal record check to be completed before the hiring of a candidate.
