*Job Overview* We are seeking a skilled and experienced Journeyman Truck and Trailer Mechanic to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and industrial equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. This role requires strong mechanical expertise, familiarity with heavy equipment, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Prior dealership experience and knowledge of specialized machinery are highly valued. A valid BC commercial inspection ticket is an asset. *Duties* * Perform routine maintenance and repairs on trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment. * Diagnose mechanical issues using schematics and diagnostic tools * Conduct electrical repairs and troubleshooting on various vehicle systems * Maintain detailed service records and documentation for all work performed * Assist with the installation, assembly, and testing of industrial equipment * Conduct inspections to identify potential safety hazards or mechanical failures * Perform heavy lifting as required for parts replacement or equipment handling * Ensure all repairs meet safety standards and manufacturer specifications * Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair status and recommendations effectively *Skills* * Proven mechanic experience with heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and industrial machinery * Dealership experience preferred but not required * Strong knowledge of commercial repair, electrical systems, HVAC, welding, and schematics, engine diagnosing and repair is an asset * Familiarity with heavy equipment operation including loader and skid steers * Experience with electrical troubleshooting and repair techniques * Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently * Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail * Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly * Punctual and presentable keeping work place clean and tidy and filling out proper work orders daily. * Safety orientated, and organized This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where technical skills are valued.
