Leaning on more than a decade of vertical integration of quantum hardware, we are leveraging a comprehensive pool of quantum technology and micro-electronic infrastructure to deploy our quantum computing technology</p><p><strong>Salary : </strong>$74,000 ? $85,000<strong><br> <br> Benefits :</strong> 5 weeks of vacation, group insurance (including dental care), virtual care, lifestyle spending account (all available after 3 months of service)</p><p><strong>Supervisor : </strong>Mechanical Design and Manufacturing Lead<br><strong>Subordinate :</strong> None</p><p><strong>Contact: </strong>(819) 975-4654, career@nordquantique.ca</p><p><strong>Our current needs</strong></p><p>As we scale up our quantum processors and supporting infrastructure, we are seeking a skilled and self-driven Mechanical Designer to join our Mechanical Design and Manufacturing Team. This role focuses on the CAD of the cryogenic dilution refrigerators setups, assemblies of 3D resonator cavities and structural and thermal analysis of those.</p><p><strong>Key responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Develop CAD of 3D cavities, ensuring mechanical precision and compatibility with cryogenic environments and create technical drawings for fabrication.</li><li>Explore mechanical elements of designs and manufacturing techniques in cavity designs to improve the repeatability of assembly.</li><li>Conduct structural and thermal analysis on the cryogenic setup to support the payload and thermal performance, analytically and with FEA simulations.</li><li>Design and document the cryogenic setups for dilution refrigerator systems.</li><li>Maintain and organize CAD libraries, revision control, and documentation to support long-term system scaling and reproducibility.</li><li>Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (Design, Quantum Hardware, and Nanofabrication) to iterate on designs.</li><li>Coordinate with external vendors, suppliers, and development partners to support machining, sourcing, and integration activities.</li></ul><p>This is a dynamic role within a fast-paced, research-driven environment, offering the opportunity to contribute directly to the advancement of scalable quantum hardware.</p><p><strong>Education and experience requirements:</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor?s degree (BSc) or Master?s degree (MSc) in Mechanical Engineering or in related field with minimum 2 years of mechanical design experience.</li><li>Must have industry experience with a proven track record in interdisciplinary R&D teams.</li></ul><p><strong>Sought expertise and knowledge:</strong></p><ul><li>Experience in CAD modeling and assembly design for precision mechanical systems, using Solidworks, Onshape or other advanced CAD software</li><li>Demonstrated ability to optimize designs for repeatability required for scaling</li><li>Experience with revision control and documentation of CAD</li><li>Familiarity with Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFM/DFA) principles</li><li>Excellent ability to deliver results within tight deadlines</li><li>Experience with stress and thermal analysis using FE- Location Sherbrooke, QC
