Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work setting: Construction. Various locations. Renovation. Commercial. Residential. Tasks: Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements. Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware. Schedule and co-ordinate work on sites. Estimate costs and materials. Prepare floors for installations. Prepare and install hardwood floors. Perform various trade work during home construction or renovation activities. Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets. Ensure compliance to drawings, specifications and building codes. Build patios, garden walls and other decorative installations. Perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair. Install metal stud framing and furring for interior drywall or plaster walls and ceilings, using hand and power tools. Equipment and machinery experience: Hand tools. Power cutting tools. Nail guns. Surface preparation experience: Drywall taping/patching. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Bending, crouching, kneeling. Handling heavy loads. Physically demanding.
