Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Work setting: Various locations. Commercial. Residential. Tasks: Install built-up roofing systems using materials such as asphalt saturated felts and hot asphalt and gravel. Install roofing tiles on sloped roofs of buildings. Repair or replace shingles and shakes on sloped roofs of buildings. Repair or replace single-ply roofing systems. Repair roofing systems. Supervise other workers. Apply waterproof coatings to concrete or other masonry surfaces below or above ground level. Install sheet metal flashings. Erect and install scaffolding, falsework and other working platforms. Supervision: 3-4 people. Security and safety: Bondable. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Handling heavy loads. Large workload. Work under pressure. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Personal suitability: Client focus. Reliability. Team player.
