<p><strong>Intermediate / Senior Estimator ? Water/Wastewater Construction </strong></p><p> </p><p>Maple Reinders is currently looking to add an experienced Construction Professional to our Civil Estimating team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a variety of civil projects across Canada with a focus on Water / Wastewater. </p><p> </p><p>We are a growing organization and are continually winning new work! Whether the opportunities are Plan Spec, Design/Build, or Construction Management, our Estimator will prepare tenders from concept to submission with an emphasis on understanding and evaluating risk. </p><p> </p><p> </p><p><strong>The successful candidate will have experience with the following: </strong></p><p></p><ul><li>Assuming responsibility for the preparation of detailed and accurate cost estimates and tenders, employing your experience and working with Maple accepted practices and systems. </li><li>Reviewing drawings and specifications, developing a thorough understanding of the project needs, requirements and risk. </li><li>Selecting and contacting of sub-contractors and suppliers and obtaining quotations. </li><li>Preparing and reviewing suppliers and sub-contractors? scope of work. </li><li>Preparing quality take-offs, with specific focus on self-performed and self-priced tasks. </li><li>Closing tenders in consultation with senior managers. </li><li>Finalizing final tender submission. </li><li>Assisting with coding of estimates where we are the successful bidder. </li><li>Review of preliminary work schedules using MS Project. </li><li>Identifying construction risks, opportunities and thorough assessment of site conditions, Sub-contractor and Labour availability. </li><li>Liaise, consult, and communicate with Engineers, Architects, Owners, Contractors, and Subcontractors, and provide value engineering and adjustments to cost estimates. </li><li>Assisting Chief Estimator with reviewing bid opportunities and strategies. </li><li>Participating, as a member of a proposal team in the development of P3, Design/Build, Design Build Operate, Construction and/or Project Management opportunities, together with Major Projects staff. </li><li>Participating in the preparation of presentations or proposals with the Major Projects staff. </li><li>Cultivating and maintaining positive relationships with Sub-contractors, Suppliers and Engineers. </li><li>Mentoring and coaching junior staff. </li></ul><p></p><p>Also determining the following:</p><ol><li>The flow of product through an operating process facility and how proposed contract changes will need to be incorporated</li><li>How the construction of the facility will need to progress from a practical standpoint including sequencing, tie-ins and staging of the work. </li></ol><p></p><p></p><p><strong>We are looking for an Estimator with experience working for a general contractor who currently have:</strong></p><p> </p><ul><li>7+ years experience estimating Water/Wastewater projects or working in a combined role of Project Manager & Estimator in Water / Wastewater.</li><li>We would also consider applicants with a background as a Project Manager, Superintendent, or trades person with experience in Water / Wastewater construction. </li><li>Mechanical experience in the food & beverage or chemical industry is also an asset.</li><li>Process Mechanical experience preferred.</li><li>Civil (excavation and site piping) experience would be an asset.</li><li>A University Degree/Technology Diploma in Engineering, Red Seal Certification (mechanical related) or a combination of education and industry experience.</li></ul><p> </p><p><strong>About Maple Reinders:</strong></p><p>Maple Reinders is one of Canada?s most respected and trusted construction firms, delivering innovative solutions for over <strong>55 years</strong>.
