We provide a diverse range of roles across many locations and a career where you can make a meaningful impact.</span></p><strong>THE ROLE</strong><p><span>Imagine the excitement and ability to show off your incredible skills in a deployed environment (overseas) for six months cutting hair for the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and partner nations from across the world! As a deployed Barber, you are not just cutting hair, but enhancing the morale and welfare of all the troops deployed.</span></p> <p><span>The Barber is part of an enthusiastic team of adventurous individuals who enjoy meaningful employment and contributing in a team-based environment. Excited by the opportunity to deploy as a civilian among CAF personnel abroad, you are a team player with a positive attitude in a fast-paced setting. You are able to adapt to new challenges in an ever-changing dynamic environment. </span></p> <p><span>The Barber cuts, trims and styles hair according to the customer?s preference or according to particular style (i.e. fades, military haircuts). You will trim beards/moustaches, analyze hair and scalp conditions, and provide advice on treatments. </span></p> <p><span>In addition, Barbers can play an important role in enhancing the morale of CAF and partner nations by assisting with recreational activities and events. Keeping the military energized ensures they are mentally and physically ready to sustain the difficulties of military operations, and live healthy balanced lives. </span></p> <p><span>This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity that does not come along often!</span></p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED</strong><p><span><strong><span>Education, Certifications and Licenses</span></strong><span> </span></span></p> <p><span>High school diploma </span></p> <p><span>Barber certification (Province)</span></p> <p><span>A valid driver?s license (Province)</span></p> <p><span>Canadian citizenship</span></p> <p><span>Must have a valid Canadian passport</span></p> <p><span><strong><span>Experience</span></strong><span> </span></span></p> <p><span>In working in a barber shop or in a hairdressing salon</span></p> <p><span>In cutting and trimming hair to required standards</span></p> <p><span>In shaving and shaping beards and moustaches</span></p> <p><span><strong><span>Competencies</span></strong><span> </span></span></p> <p><span><span>Client </span><span>focus, </span><span>organizational </span><span>knowledge, </span><span>communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.</span><span> </span></span></p> <p><strong><span><span>Additional Qualifications Prior to Deployment</span></span></strong></p> <p><span>Completion of a health, dental and psychosocial assessment</span></p> <p><span>Security screening</span></p> <p><span>Standard First Aid with CPR/AED Level C, or willingness to obtain- Location Québec, QC
