<p>WHO WE ARE Opened in 1914 and welcoming over 1.3 million visitors annually, the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) is Canada's most-visited museum, ranking among the top 10 cultural institutions in North America.</p><p>At ROM, we are dedicated to building and sharing global collections, sharing knowledge, inspiring learning, and fostering community engagement.</p><p>As a globally recognized field research institute, ROM houses an impressive collection of over 18 million artworks, cultural objects, and natural history specimens, showcased in over 40 galleries and exhibition spaces.</p><p>We are committed to creating a space where art, culture, and nature intersect, connecting people and communities to the past, present and shared future.</p><p>As we continue to work toward our goals to transform and evolve as one of the world’s foremost 21st-century museums, we seek passionate and dynamic team members who embody our mission and values.</p><p>WHO WE NEED We are seeking an Assistant Tourism & Membership Intern to support ROM’s Tourism & Membership team for Summer 2026.</p><p>This full-time, grant-funded contract position, supported through the Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) Program, provides an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in tourism outreach, membership engagement, visitor services, and event coordination within one of Canada’s leading cultural institutions.</p><p>In this role, you will support initiatives that help strengthen visitor engagement, promote ROM’s programs and experiences, and assist with membership-related activities and community outreach efforts.</p><p>Working closely with the Tourism & Membership team, you will contribute to public-facing initiatives that support audience growth, visitor engagement, and memorable museum experiences.</p><p>This opportunity is ideal for students or emerging professionals interested in tourism, arts and culture, membership services, communications, marketing, events, or visitor engagement.</p><p>HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT Support tourism outreach initiatives, including researching audiences, organizing promotional materials, and assisting with visitor engagement activities.</p><p>Assist with festivals, community events, outreach activations, and public-facing promotional initiatives.</p><p>Respond to general customer service and membership inquiries via email, phone, or in-person interactions.</p><p>Support membership renewal campaigns, membership communications, and audience engagement initiatives.</p><p>Assist with the coordination and execution of membership events and visitor engagement activities.</p><p>Help prepare marketing and communication materials, including email drafts, promotional content, and organizational resources.</p><p>Support administrative and organizational tasks, including maintaining records, organizing materials, and updating spreadsheets or tracking documents.</p><p>Collaborate with Tourism & Membership team members to support visitor engagement and audience development initiatives.</p><p>WHAT YOU BRING Currently enrolled in or recently completed post-secondary studies in Tourism, Marketing, Communications, Arts Administration, Hospitality, Business, Public Relations, or a related field.</p><p>Strong communication and interpersonal skills with enthusiasm for public engagement and visitor experience.</p><p>Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.</p><p>Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.</p><p>Interest in tourism, arts and culture, museums, membership engagement, events, or visitor services.</p><p>Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.</p><p>Previous customer service, retail, hospitality, events, volunteer, or administrative experience is considered an asset.</p><p>Ability to work independently while contributing positively within a team environment.</p><p>Friendly, professional, and adaptable with strong problem-solving s- Location Toronto, ON
