*Overview* We are seeking a skilled and dependable Roofer to join our construction team. This role involves installing, repairing, and maintaining roofing systems on residential and commercial properties. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction and carpentry, with the ability to work safely at heights and handle physically demanding tasks. Prior experience with hand tools, blueprint reading, and caulking is highly desirable. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop their skills in roofing and construction within a professional environment. *Duties* * Install new roofing systems using various materials such as shingles, metal, or membrane roofing * Repair and replace damaged or worn roofing components * Measure roof areas accurately using blueprints and other technical drawings * Use hand tools such as hammers, saws, and drills to perform installation and repairs * Perform heavy lifting of roofing materials and equipment safely * Apply caulking to seal joints and prevent leaks * Assist with related construction tasks including framing, carpentry, and general handyman duties as needed * Ensure all work complies with safety standards and building codes * Maintain a clean work area and properly dispose of debris *Skills* * Proficiency with hand tools essential for roofing tasks * Strong background in construction and carpentry techniques * Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately * Experience with caulking and sealing techniques * Physical strength for heavy lifting and working at heights * Prior handyman experience is a plus * Good problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues on-site * Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment This position is vital for ensuring high-quality roofing installations and repairs while maintaining safety standards.
