The Excavation Team at Alternative Group works on a wide range of projects, including sewer and water installation, total lot clearing, demolition, site preparation excavation and backfill. We?re looking for experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join our excavation team. If you?re confident on the controls, committed to safety, and ready to move earth with precision, this could be the perfect role for you. *About the Job:* * Operate equipment such a back-hoe or loader during construction and related activities. * Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment and clean, lubricate and refill equipment, and keep maintenance records for each piece of equipment. * Maintains active communication with all other crew members and ensures strict adherence to construction and safety regulations. * Visually inspect construction sites to check for land grading, underground utilities locations, overhead obstacles, and other obstacles that may deter or affect construction. *Requirements:* · Minimum 3-5 years? experience operating heavy equipment * Heavy Equipment Operator Trade Certification * Ability to work outdoors in all weather and frequently lift heavy materials; strength and endurance are essential to this job. * Strong communication skills to relay information to other crew members and receive instructions from the job foreman. * Mechanical skills to correctly identify equipment issues. * Strong attention to detail (aware and observant) at all times to notice anything that may compromise job safety or construction tasks. * Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and construction plans. * Driver?s license required; Class 1 is an asset *Working Conditions:* * Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions. * Heavy physical labour; lifting approximately 50 lbs. * 10 hour shifts standard; some weekend work may be required. * This is a seasonal, full-time position that may lead into a year-round opportunity. * Wage is dependent upon experience.
