Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Outdoors. Hot. Dusty. Extremely cold. Heavy equipment. Work setting: Various locations. Willing to relocate. Relocation costs not covered by employer. Tasks: Interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications to plan methods or sequences of operation . Operate heavy equipment. Read blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements . Clean and lubricate equipment and refill equipment tanks. Measure distance, volume, length and weight. Complete onboard and other logs. Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment. Secure special attachments to equipment. Operate two-way radios and other communication equipment. Perform minor repairs to equipment. Operate hydraulic pumping systems. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Heavy Equipment Operator Trade Certification. Driver's License (Class 1 or A). Air Brake (Z) Endorsement. First Aid Certificate. Ground Disturbance - Level 1 program. Ground Disturbance - Level II program. Type of heavy equipment operated: Backhoe excavator, loader. John Deere controls. Trencher, large or small. Loader. Operate forklift. Front end loader. Dump truck. Gravel or dump truck. Industrial lift trucks and fork-lifts. Bobcats. Equipment and machinery experience: Skidsteer. Area of work experience: Backfilling. Ditching. Excavation. Fine grading and finishing. Land clearing. Material handling. Rough grading. Sloping and banking. Snow removal. Sub-grade excavating. Trenching. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Own vehicle. Willing to travel.
