<p><strong>Permanent Part Time Food Services Driver (G-Class)</strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>Mission Statement: </strong>Homes First Society develops and provides affordable, stable housing and support services to break the cycle of homelessness for people with the fewest housing options.</p><p></p><p><strong>Location:</strong> Various</p><p><strong>Position type:</strong> Part Time, Permanent</p><p><strong>Hours of work: </strong> 9-5 Monday, Wednesday and Friday</p><p><strong>Starting Date:</strong> ASAP</p><p><strong>Salary</strong>: $21.00 per hour plus 7% vacation pay & other benefits</p><p><strong>Submit Resume to: </strong> Lavanya.sivakumar@homesfirst.on.ca</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>Applicants, please quote ?PT-FDE?</strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>Job Purpose:</strong> The Food Services Driver is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of prepared meals, food supplies, and related materials using a Homes First refrigerated vehicle.</p><p></p>JOB REQUIREMENTS<ul><li>Conduct pre/post-trip truck inspections to ensure proper and safe handling conditions</li><li>Operate the vehicle safely and in compliance with all Ontario traffic regulations</li><li>Load the vehicle with food service bins, meal containers, and supplies</li><li>Complete required paperwork (Daily driver logs, Signature of Receipts, vehicle maintenance concerns etc.)</li><li>Safely transport meals and supplies between centralized kitchens, shelters, and housing sites to designated staff</li><li>Monitor and adhere to legislative requirements, Toronto Shelter Standards, Collective Agreement and Homes First policies and procedures</li><li>Maintain inventory and order supplies for the program as needed</li><li>Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively in English and follow oral and written instructions</li><li>Demonstrate ability to work independently</li><li>Knowledge of client populations, diversity issues, anti-discrimination practices and systemic reasons for homelessness</li><li>Ability to handle heavy loads and lift heavy equipment and supplies</li><li>Practice excellent food safety and sanitation procedures</li><li>Other duties as required</li></ul><p></p>QUALIFICATIONS<ul><li>Valid G-Class driver's license</li><li>Minimum 25 years of age (insurance requirement)</li><li>Keep and maintain a clean Driver?s Abstract</li><li>Ability to lift and move food bins up to 40 lbs</li><li>Experience driving cargo vans or light commercial vehicles (preferred)</li><li>Ability to read and follow maps, directions, and delivery details</li><li>Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act, hygiene and safe handling practices/techniques, Food Handler?s certificate.</li><li>Experience working in community-based settings with homeless and marginalized individuals, including people who use illicit drugs is considered an asset</li></ul><p></p><p>Working in an environment where there may be smoke is required.
