Tasks: Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions. Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required. Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts. Keep maintenance reports and documentation. Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications. Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work. Verify and repair emission control systems. Perform other routine maintenance. Repair and adjust system components. Perform scheduled preventive maintenance work. Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports. Troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial, electrical and electronic control systems and other related devices. Inspect mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions. Inspect assigned locomotives. Adjust, repair or replace electrical system parts.
