Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Tasks: Load and off-load machines. Notify supervisor or mechanic of equipment malfunctions. Operate and feed a variety of machines. Set up, maintain and make minor repairs to machinery. Push carts, trucks or cans of fibres from one work area to another. Clean machines and immediate work areas. Assist machine operators and other textile workers as required. Examine products for defects to ensure adherence to quality standards. Mix dyes or chemicals according to established formulae. Operate a variety of machines to bleach, dye, coat or finish fabric, thread, yarn or other textile products. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Repetitive tasks. Manual dexterity. Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination. Standing for extended periods. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Ability to distinguish between colours. Fast-paced environment.
